Easter Haircut

We've been getting tired of paying for Nate's recent bad haircuts so we decided to let them try 1 more time with clippers hoping I could do it myself in the future. I'm not so sure I like it. The big blue eyes and the short blond hair. So militant. So German.

Not much to report about Easter. We told Nate about the Easter Bunny and he seemed to enjoy looking for eggs. Here he is having breakfast.

Avery has been great. As you can see she sleeps a lot. Lucky for us (especially Allison) she is also sleeping well through the night, only waking up for feeding and a diaper change and then back to sleep. This makes her mom and dad very happy.

Peace

I know it won't last forever but I have to say, I couldn't be more proud of Nate. He has been absolutely terrific.

Avery Gail Fiala

Well here she is! Avery entered the world on 3/12/08 at 3:20am and weighs in at 7lb 5oz. Both mom and baby are doing great. I, however, need more coffee (hence this abbreviated post). Allison mother was able to make it down from Maine to be with us again and a big thanks to Uncle Nick for staying with Nate while we were at the hospital. More details and pics to come.

Again, Allison looks awesome minutes after giving birth. Even at 3:30am and doing it all natural. These girls are my heroes!

This is just a cute shot of her first bath at the hospital. She LOVED getting her head scrubbed!

Almost 39 Weeks

I'm still mostly just gut, although I chose this picture because I felt I had some weird neck folds going on in the other pictures. I can stil get rings on and off my fingers and my ankles look normal. The secret to not swelling is to drink TONS of water and wear Depends.

This baby has cooked about 2 weeks longer than Nate did. I hope this doesn't translate into a 10 lb baby like my little sister was. My mom is fond of reminding her that she "hasn't been the same since".

Neighborhood Perks

Nate went riding his little bike up and down the side street with daddy the other day, and a nice lady came out and gave him a blue lollipop. It still hasn't come off his face.

This is why you don't take candy from strangers.
