Virginia!!!

Well we FINALLY made it to VA so Nate could meet his Grandma and Grandpa and the rest of the southern branch of the family tree (yes, it branches). Nate was an exceptionally good boy the whole trip and made his mom and dad look like really good parents. Fact is we're mostly lucky I think. Anyway, for the whole weekend Nate was passed around like blame in the White House. He does enjoy the attention.

Here are Grandma and Grandpa basking it Nate's awesomeness. In case you don't know, he is the first GrandSON in the family. Disclaimer: These pictures may or may NOT have actually been taken on Thursday.

Here he is being manhandled by his Aunts Cindy and Jean and Uncle Chuck.

And his cousins, Samantha, Mary and Jamison, got some Nate love (and drool) too!

Nate is a busy blockhead.

His head is almost a perfect cube.

Chris took some cute pictures of Nate today, on what was the first real Summery day of the season. Nate likes being outside, and there's a playground across the street with those rubbery baby swings that he seems to like.

Indoors, Nate still likes his toy console and his bouncy Johnny Jump-up. We got the JJ-U at a secondhand store near Uncle Nick's house. I like this particular picture of him because of the cat peeking at me from between Nate's legs. Whenever Nate is boinging around in the JJ-U, Bean likes to be there in case he accidentally pats her (our cats are starved for love).

Just a cute picture...

He looks like the Elf Head.

Sweet Potater

Nate has also begun to experiment with solid foods. The most exotic dinner so far has been sweet potatoes from a jar. They smell and look like no sweet potato I have ever seen before.

Only six months old...

and Im pleased to announce that Nate is employed at a nearby nuclear plant at an operations console! Or so it would seem, given the dimensions of this new toy that Gran brought for him. This is the type of toy that Chris and I would scoff at while we strolled past the display at Babies R' Us, wondering what baby could possibly need such an elaborate device and joking that it would require its own room. Well, Nate loves it. We didnt need that floorspace anyway...
