Girls! Girls! Girls!

We had a lovely time in Virgina over Christmas, and in addition to seeing G-Pa and G-Ma and all his aunts, uncles, and cousins, Nate also got to meet a couple babies roughly his own age for the first time. We visited with the Davies and Nate had some nice respectful side-by-side play with cutie pie little Hannah (see her exploits at www.thedaviezoo.blogspot.com). Nate seemed mildly interested in Hannah, but more interested in the maracas and the inflatable football.

The next day Nate met another little girl who was about 6 months older than Nate and about the same size. Kelleigh Ann is the niece of our sister in law and she lives in the same town as G-Ma and G-Pa. Well, let's just say that Nate's reaction to this kid was nothing short of creepy. In a dramatic turnaround from his meeting with Hannah the day before, Nate latched on to Kelleigh Ann's shirt and stared into her face at close range for an uncomfortable length of time. Really, it was weird. Also incredibly amusing. Kelleigh Ann was pretty patient with him although the look on her face is best described as 'apprehensive'.

Nate has a whole slew of 'tween and teen girl cousins. No boys, and none remotely his age. Here they are at the park. That's Nate all by himself on the baby swing, and his cousins gossiping on the big girl swings. Aww, poor Nate....so ignorable.

Lastly here's a pic of Nate with Uncle Chuck. Nate got on well with everyone there and seemed to thrive on the zoo-like atmosphere of Chris' large family. He had a fun time toddling around being the center of attention.

Merry Christmas!

Before we head down to Virginia on Friday I thought I'd post a few more pics of Nate from our studio experience:
