Milestone-a-palooza!

So, in the last two weeks Nate figured out how to crawl, pull himself up to standing, cruise along furniture, and he sprouted two front bottom teeth. All these developments have thrown his sleep schedule out of whack much to babysitter Aunt Sarah's dismay (yesterday was almost napless with near constant crying). When you put him in his crib, he immediately stands up and cries, when before he would roll onto his side comfortably and go to sleep with only a little fuss. What are we supposed to do now? Bop him back down like a wack-a-mole game? He'll only pop back up!! Plus he's extremely drooly and doing this weird thing with his jaw since he became aware of his teeth. He sticks it out like an underbitey toothless old man and scowls like Popeye. I'll try to get a picture of it even though it scares me a little.

Here he is showing off his teeth a little in the top photo. Also note the picture of him stuck under the kitchen chair.

Also, Nate turned 9 months old yesterday. At the doctor's last week they informed me that he was 90th percentile for height, and 50th for weight. Tall and slim. Now if he can maintain this through adulthood he'll be in good shape. Its funny how finding out his percentiles have become the highlight of the appointments for me...it allows me to clinically compare his perfection to the Babies of the World. Would I feel the same way if he was, say, in the 2nd percentile for height and the 99th for weight? What would such a baby look like?

Whoa! It's no wonder he does so much stuff in two weeks. What little time he gets on the outside of his kitchen chair prison, he wants to make the most of it. So lemme ask ya, are you guys gonna have him on a vegetarian diet? (I'm thinking about all the stuff he gets to eat with those two pearly white teeth!) What have you read about vegetarian diets and infants?
    Good work Nater Potater!!!

Allison has read up on it and Dr. Spock (not to be confused with MR. Spock) actually recommends vegetarian diets for babies. We don't have meat at home so obviously he's not getting it here. He has eaten vegetarian meatballs and hot dog chunks (which he seems to like ok) but no actual flesh. My only issue is that I think ultimately he should make that decision on his own but as it stands he is going to have to get real meat on the outside.

Ha! That's one way to keep em vegetarian, tell THAT story! I feel the same. I'm sure she'll be curious one day but I can't imagine she'd wanna try something that she doesn't normally eat. That's like saying "I don't serve Brussel Sprouts at home but someday she'll see Brussel Sprouts and wanna eat em." I kinda doubt it but who knows. It's totally her choice but I've never known anyone who was brought up vegetarian (isn't that weird??) so I thought I'd ask.
    GO VEG!

I wasnt brought up vegetarian either. I totally dug Hamburger Helper.

That Brussel Sprouts thing you describe? TOTALLY happened to me. Never had em until a few years ago when i was in the grocery store wondering why i had never eated them before. Maybe Nate will get into his 30s and go on a fois gras binge just because he CAN.
